I’ve been toying with different ways of analogizing and thinking about widgets and have come up with the following:

  1. Widgets are legoizing(made-up word) the World Wide Web.
  2. Widgets turn the Web from a plain old toy robot into Voltron.
  3. Widgets heterogenize (I think this is a made-up word) the Web.
  4. Widgets compartmentalize the Web.
  5. Widgets are rad.
  6. Widgets facilitate a more customized, personalized user experience.
  7. Widgets are gidgets
  8. Widgets are doohickeys or doodads (courtesy of Al Castle)
  9. Widgets are stupid mindless R2D2s
  10. I should get back to work.
